On October 14 2015,  Wines of Turkey has organised ‘Discover the Taste of Turkey’ tasting event  which took place at Haberdahser Hall, a beautiful historical building which has been modernized and equipped to host one of the biggest tasting event to date.

17 Turkish wine producers have shown a diverse mix of over 100 wines, from large and small wineries alike, all under one roof, featuring wines made from Turkey’s many indigenous varietals, to better known international ones.

We packed the whole day with captivating speeches from Peter McCombie and Sarah Abbott, delicious flying food and the opportunity to meet 17 of the most established Turkish wine producers and taste their fine wines.

Sarah Abbott MW, who hosted a masterclass at the tasting, comments: “In the last five years, the buzz over the quality and vibrant personality of these unique wines has been growing in the UK, helped by what we like to call the ‘Ottolenghi’ effect – the growing appreciation for the foods and drinks of the Eastern Mediterranean, and beyond.
